Having a trademark registration is essential for any business. It gives the owner exclusive rights to the trademark. A trademark registration is valid for ten years and can be renewed indefinitely every ten years at little cost.
The increase in registration and renewal fees will take effect on 29 April 2022. Trademark owners may wish to review your trademark portfolios and ensure that any trademarks with expiry dates upcoming soon are renewed in time. You can take advantage of the current IPOS fee structure before the fee hike takes force.
Applications made before the effective date will be priced at the current rate, even if the processing period extends beyond 29 April. For more information on the process and fees update, please click here.
